Where angels love to tread

A fortnight ago, a deadline started looming. True to form, I ignored it. "For now." To ensure it carried all the weight befitting a looming deadline, I embellished it with promises. I'll do face painting for the other kids. I'll make you and your doll each a dress - and wings. Yes!

A few days before Leia's Year-End Concert, I had other work, appointments and the first telltale signs of the Midsummer HeatSlump. And a dress to make. And face paint to buy. And Google Images to befriend ("how to draw monkey and bear faces for 2-5 year-olds")... Ugh.

Well, it turned out I am a seamstress, an artist  - and a last-minute Googler of note! May a picture speak a thousand words :)

Lo and behold that we were worried about rain the previous night... By 9a.m., it was 30 degrees in the shade! Leia and her grandparents were only too relieved when we reached The Secret Garden at Norscot Manor - and its shaded seating.

And I? I just basked in the moment :)
