The Enchanted Map - Chapter 15

KIND NESS PAYS HER DIVIDENDS

Heeding Grandma NEW's advice not to wear her red frock while out in the old woods, KIND (youngest and estranged sister to LOCH NESS) donned a frumpy brown coat over her little black number. It had been rainy and a bit chill of late, allowing her to shield an innate annoyance with advice under the guise of warm wisdom.

So off the propheteering little globe-trotter set, altruistic brush in hand; to paint the world before a little more benevolent. On her way out the gate, she rubbed her wee  one-eyed fox's mane playfully, while shrugging off a chilly reminder of the day he lost that ogler... Tomorrow is BLIND SPOT's golden jubilee, she remembered unwillingly - then shoved the whole notion of thinking aside - besides, folklore says chastened confreres are not to be brooded over, and she had to guard her brood with special care!

Once her hands were skimming the prairie's tall grass and the wind her hair, KIND could think of nothing but the flamboyant blush she'd create in the forest today. She had endless fun flitting about, vending her art and amusing passing pals - one of whom she ear-wigged referencing a certain Professor, a golden jubilee and the unmistakable phrase 'tomorrow in the old woods'.

This stopped the little urchin in her tracks. I be damned, she thought, what is the likelihood of that? Remembering that she was, after all, on her way to the old woods - where magic and synchronicity defy present-day logic, she started whistling a new tune. At least, she thought, there's ONE recipient of the jubilee emblem whose code I may well like to honour...

She wasted no time in confusion over the gift she'd present; KIND just knew FRIENDSHIP would fit her present wrapping to a tee! The Prof accepted the gift ever so humbly, and invited her to tea sometime this week. Before KIND wandered off to explore further her occasionally puzzling yet compellingly mysterious Enchanted Journey, she put a marker on her Map to celebrate this day with GRATI TUDE (father of ATTI, the star-child of the formidably successful TUDE family)!
